The “sonography of internal organs” module includes comprehensive documentation of all functional sonographic examinations of the entire abdominal cavity (abdominal sonography), such as liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, and kidney. In addition, MediConnect® offers diagnostic pathways for the sonographic examination of intestinal and perianal sonography, all accessible lymph node regions, the thyroid gland and the neck, controlled puncture for obtaining tissue from all accessible organs in the abdomen, and simplifies workflows with the MediConnect® DICOM viewer and structured diagnostic pathways. MediConnect® provides tools for re-measurement in the network. All measurements, including those imported from the ultrasound system, are summarized in a worksheet. The longitudinal view of the parameters established by the structured data transfer is a very useful option, both for clinical routine and for studies. Gastroenterology, endoscopy
This module supports the workflow and documentation of all endoscopic examination procedures. There are diagnostic pathways for the key mainstays of modern endoscopic diagnostics and associated therapeutic measures, such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, rectoscopy, endoscopy and visualization of bile and pancreatic ducts (ERCP/ERP cholangio/pancreaticoscopy), and endosonography (endoscopic ultrasound) of the upper and lower digestive tract, including the endoscopic examination of the gastrointestinal tract. Pneumology, bronchoscopy
As an imaging module, the bronchoscopy module completes the pneumology procedures. Bronchoscopy is one of the most important methods of examination for detecting diseases of the respiratory tract and lungs. Diagnostic pathways are available for fully documenting the examination, including structured documentation of the clarification of narrowing of the airways, the localization of lung tumors, biopsy, bronchial lavage, sampling for microbiological examination for germs (bacteria, fungi, parasites), and other fields of application. Gastroenterology
The gastroenterological functional diagnostics module includes various examinations with which functional disorders of the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine, and the rectum can be recorded and documented. Various diagnostic pathways, including the connection of the functional diagnostic devices for, among other things, H2 exhalation tests to analyze the exhaled air, pH-metry to measure the acidity and impedance of the esophagus, high-resolution esophageal manometry to measure pressure in the esophagus during swallowing, anorectal manometry, etc., make this module, together with the imaging modules sonography and endoscopy, an indispensable part of daily routine.
Pneumology
Various diagnostic pathways are available in MediConnect® for documenting examinations of lung and respiratory diseases. By integrating the respective medical technology, the pneumological functional diagnostics module contains diagnostic findings pathways for simple functional testing using spirometry, body plethysmography, CO diffusion measurement, the integration of blood gas analysis values, or the structured recording of the 6-minute walking test.
